Component Prototyping with Kimo Griggs

Originally conceived of as a bench with a topographic underside that could be used for storage, during the process of prototyping the form and structure were combined through creasing and bending sheet metal. The two elevations of the bench are intended to read as different formal languages; the front creates an outline of a solid form while the sides convey that of subtraction. The steel facets of the bench are used to create legs as well as a lower shelf that provides lateral support.
